5 April - Race Night - Rumball Style

It's time for another fundraising Race Night Rumball style.  Nothing like the usual stale DVD of races from far flung parts of the world but one in which everyone takes part and gets involved.

Loads of fun for all.

Sat 1st XI Champions

Congratulations to the Sat 1st XI who ended the season as Division 2 champions and return to Division 1 next season.

With Botany Bay hard on their heels all season the title race came down to the last game with Dunstable needing to win to be sure of promotion. The visit to bottom of the table side Baldock produced a victory and despite Botany Bay also winning Dunstable finished on top.

Well done you old boys !

Sat 4th XI Champions !

Congratulations to the Sat IV XI who are top of the Beds Saturday Invitational League and cannot now be caught.  Well done to captain Ken Alden and all those who have played in the side this year.

Guess who's back...

The 2013/14 season will see DTCC welcome back some old faces.

The Baby-faced Badger, Sam Cherry, has returned from his time at Tring Park and dons his whites for Lancot Park once again. He joins the returning Bradley Matthews (Papplewick and Linby CC) in becoming the first two signings for the coming season. Both bring Premier league experience and are hoping to boost Dunstable's promotion push this year.

We are still hopeful to bring in some key individuals over the next few weeks or so.

Dunstable Town Cricket Club will receive £45,000 funding to upgrade facilities at their Lancot Park ground in Totternhoe.

Sport England said the club will receive the National Lottery cash as part of the £150million Places People Play programme to help develop the Olympic legacy.

The money will be spent on new lighting for the club’s two-lane indoor net area, improved hot water facilities and a new heating system.

Outgoing club chairman John McDougal said: “We are delighted to have secured this investment. This is a facility that benefits a huge number of cricketers.”

One of the largest club grounds in the country, 15-acre Lancot Park will now carry the London 2012 ‘Inspire’ mark, celebrating the link between the Games and Britain’s sporting legacy.

MP Andrew Selous said: “I am delighted to see this money coming to Dunstable Town Cricket Club. I know it will be really well used and the improvements are an excellent legacy from the fantastic 2012 Olympic Games last year.”

The cricket club is one of more than 1,000 projects across the country to receive investment from the Inspiring Facilities fund.
