Dear Members

You are cordially invited to attend the Dunstable Town Cricket Club AGM on Wednesday the 4th of February, from 7:00pm for a 7.30pm start.

With the sad passing of Chappers, the Executive Committee have unanimously nominated John “Ted” McDougal for the role of Club President. Ted joined the Club in 1982 and played until 2001. During his playing career he captained the Saturday 3rd team and went on every club tour from 1983 to 1997, including one he organized. He has served on Committee for 40 years, including 8 years as Chairman from 2005 and two lengthy spells as Club Secretary from the late 1980s to early 2000s. He was made an honorary life member in 2013.

In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Ted played a major role on the New Ground committee that organised the sale of the Bull Pond Lane ground and the move to Totternhoe. He was also one of the 3 members who shared the Chairmanship of the Centenary Committee, including organising the fixtures for the Cricket Week in 1992. In recent years, he has been the Minutes Secretary for the Executive Committee. Please join us in supporting Ted in his new role.

A club of our size runs on the goodwill of our volunteers, as ever we are looking for more people to join both our executive and cricket committees. If you are keen or potentially interested in joining either of the committees, either in a senior role, a captain or get more involved in general, please again reach out to a current committee member.

Kind regards

Lee Pratt

Chairman
