Simon Riggs
Club in shock as sponsor dies in tragic accident.
The Club is shocked and deeply saddened to hear the tragic news of the death of Simon Riggs, a main sponsor of the club for the past 7 years and the stepfather of Sam Marshall. Simon was killed when a plane he was piloting crashed at Duxford Airfield on Tuesday 26th March.
Simon had recently retired as CEO of 2nd Quadrant, a data server solution company he had founded. Many at the Club will be familiar with the company name 2nd Quadrant as they were a former kit sponsor. More recently they sponsored the extensive refurbishment and upgrade of the Lancot Park scoreboard. Simon and his wife Karen were frequent visitors to club, attending Presidents Day on a number of occasions.
In addition to being an extremely successful Tech Entrepreneur and generous benefactor, Simon was a devoted family man who lived life to the full. He will be missed by many.
The Club’s sincere condolences go to Sam, Karen and all Simon’s family and friends.
